If you’ve already bought your ticket for The Grocery Girls festival, you might be wondering how it’s all rolled around so soon, it’s already mid-September, and we’re kicking things off this Friday? Don’t worry, us too!

It’s been a whirlwind of a summer, and planning a virtual festival has been a real learning curve for us. We’ve put together a schedule of events that we’re really excited to bring to you, and we can’t wait to share more information very soon. Today, we’re giving you a sneak peek at what you can expect for this week’s events!

Friday 18 September

10-11am: Panel – Leadership in the New Normal

We’ll be putting our questions to some of the industry’s most inspiring female leaders, hearing what it’s been like as a leader during 2020 and delving into what’s in store as the world continues to deal with unprecedented change. With Jo Whitfield, CEO, Co-op Food; Lorraine Hendle, Managing Director, William Reed; Christine Cross, Managing Director, Christine Cross Ltd; Judith Batchelar, Director of Sainsbury’s Brand, Sainsbury’s.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of this session, so feel free to come along with ideas!

1.30-2.30pm: Talk – How Role Models Make Us Human

A prominent expert on applied psychology, Fiona Murden has spent the past 18 years advising leaders of global organisations and ‘people of significant influence’ on how best to fulfil their own and others potential. Her new book Mirror Thinking is all about role modelling and how we learn to exist and adapt based on those around us. In this session, Fiona will show us how those around us have impacted us, and help us work out what kinds of role models we want to bring into our lives.

We will have space for questions throughout this session.

Tickets are available for these sessions until Thursday, so grab yours quickly if you want to attend. Both the full festival bundle and individual tickets for later events are still on sale too.

Want to know more about our upcoming sessions, including the list of exciting speakers from across the grocery industry? Well, stay tuned – we’re ramping up the #ggfest news and you can expect more info very soon!

While you wait, did you listen to the bonus podcast episode we went live with a couple of weeks ago? Samantha Thomas-Berry will be sitting on a virtual #ggfest panel later in the month. Check it out for some extra inspiration!
